I really want to improve the top page for “Embers to Stars”, but I still don’t have enough suitable material. So I’m making some artwork. This is a small part of the one I am currently working on:

This scene is set very late in the story, when Elya and Fraie have already gone through quite a few things and the main conflict of the story has unfolded. It’s the quiet before the storm…well to some extend.

I started this is black and white, because I feel with the depth of the background, it’s easier to get the tone right. I just put a color gradient on it…which is a bit misleading, since it’s set in a forest, so things will be a lot more green in the actual picture. It just looked boring, with just tones. orz

I hope that I will get around to actually drawing some character files, too and maybe I can add some of my early sketches to the blog. ^^)

The next page is in the works and it will finally lead to Fraie’s hometown “Sundra”.
